Senior Fellow, Network & Edge Group, Intel Corp.
Udayan Mukherjee is an Intel Senior Fellow in the Network Platforms Group and Chief Architect for Intel's Wireless Network Infrastructure, leading architecture and product development for 5G radio access, packet core, and private network at the edge. Udayan architected industry's first fully virtualized 5G pipeine (Sub 6 & MMwave) on open architecture through FlexRAN & FlexCore which are being deployed across Geos. Udayan is responsible for Silicon enhancements for 5G RAN & Core including SoC architecture & instruction set and is also working on developing comprehensive edge architecture while addressing multi access private network implemented @ edge with features like URLLC/TSN, QoS/Slicing & Network AI targeting specific vertical IOT domains.
Udayan is also responsible for establishing new growth areas and biz for Intel in network infrastructure & enterprise/IOT edge, including incubating technologies and optimizations for Si platforms designed for software-based networking and the next generation of cloud native network functions, developing wireless-specific intellectual property, leading Intel’s product development for 5G and beyond, and defining private/enterprise network software stack at the edge. Udayan’s research interests include mobile computing and communication platforms; heterogeneous networks; next-generation air interface technologies; network virtualization; and mobile edge services and applications.
